Control Sheets is a tiny desktop utility designed for Quick Control over screen saver and display mode settings. Using it, you can temporary disable screensaver, quickly change screen resolution, save desktop icons positions.
Features:
Fast display mode switching.
The standard Windows control panel "Display Properties" is a universal and convenient tool in general. But if you have to change display settings very often (for example if you are A Web Developer, who tests how his pages looks in different screen resolutions), you may find that to open each time Display Properties becomes a bit tiresome. Control Sheets utility is intended to perform such tasks as quickly as possible. Left clicking on its tray icon opens a small control panel. It consists of two sheets: "screen saver" (see below) and "display mode". On the latter, you select the desired screen resolution, color depth, possibly refresh rate, and click the "set" button. The Control Sheets panel automatically hides as soon as you switch to any other application (like system volume control does).
Preserve windows and desktop icons positions.
A very annoying problem is that after switching to a lower screen resolution and then reverting back, desktop icons and opened windows appear to be heaped to the top left corner of the screen. Control Sheets Prevent this. They simply keep windows and icons positions for each screen resolution and automatically restore them after each mode switch. You can also save and restore icons positions manually by menu command.
Temporarily disable screen saver.
Sometimes (for example watching video, burning CD-R) automatically starting screensaver may be very objectionable. Control Sheets offers an easy way to temporary disable and then Re-Enable your screensaver as well as auto power management options: turn off monitor and system standby. On the "screen saver" sheet you'll find the corresponding check boxes.
